We are pleased to be able to add to our Old Savilians' events list a Bridge Tournament. Organised by Andrew Darnton (OS, 2003), the event will take place on Saturday 8 December from 1.30pm-5.00pm.
The game of bridge has evolved over the centuries and is believed to have its origins in the trick-playing game of whist, dating back to the 16th century. The first western game was thought to have been played at the Portland Club, London in 1888. This strategic game is thought to keep your memory active, your brain alert and your body healthier, the latter as the area in the brain used in playing bridge stimulates the immune system.
So, if you fancy your chances against keen bridge players Andy, Sam Whiting (OS, 2003) and Dean Bunnell (OS, 1970), former QEGS Maths Teacher, (and want a mental workout!), then sign up right here.
No cost involved, just come along and play.
If you require further information prior to booking, please email Andy on oldsaviliansbridge@gmail.com
