Following the success of last year's event, we are pleased to be able to invite you to our Old Savilians' Bridge Tournament for a second year. Organised by Andrew Darnton (OS, 2003), the event will take place on Saturday 7 December from 1.30pm-5.00pm.
The game of bridge has evolved over the centuries and is believed to have its origins in the trick-playing game of whist, dating back to the 16th century. The first western game was thought to have been played at the Portland Club, London in 1888. This strategic game is thought to keep your memory active, your brain alert and your body healthier, the latter as the area in the brain used in playing bridge stimulates the immune system.
So, if you fancy your chances against keen bridge players (and want a mental workout!), alongside a friendly get-together, drinks and snacks throughout the afternoon, then sign up right here. Prizes for the winners too!
No cost involved, just come along and play.
If you require further information prior to booking, please email Andy on oldsaviliansbridge@gmail.com
